Hire Terms and Conditions

This document is subject to change, these changes will be sent to you in writing before they become effective. Crab Apple Hire assume no responsibility for your failure to read and accept these changes.

1. A minimum non-refundable deposit of 30% is required to secure your date.

2. Cancellations of any services booked with Crab Apple Hire should be made in writing and received by Crab Apple Hire no less than 28 days prior to the date of the booked event clearly stating the reason for cancellation. Failure to cancel within the specified timescale will mean that the named client will incur the full booking fee to be paid and cleared in full by the booked function date.

3. Payments made to Crab Apple Hire are not transferable.

4. The balance must be paid in full prior to the event date, failure to do so will incur a fee of 5% of any remaining balance, a further fee of 5% of the remaining balance will be applied every 7-day period thereafter or no work will be completed.

5. It is the clients responsibility to ensure that all monies are paid promptly and correctly.

6. Payments can be made to Crab Apple Hire through the following means; cash, bank deposit or credit card. All payments accepted via Credit Card are liable to incur additional fees and charges of 1.75%.

7. A public holiday surcharge of 25% applies to all labour services, which fall within 2 days either side of your event. Please note: public holidays before and after your event date will also attract a surcharge.

8. All labour or products provided outside of scope outlined in initial package or service will incur additional cost quoted prior to those services being completed/products purchased. Payment will then be required as per new invoice, and any overdue amounts will be treated as in clause 4.

9. Should Crab Apple Hire make any purchases on your behalf (for example flowers) the payment will be made on your behalf to the third party with additional invoice payable by client. Any overdue amounts will be treated as in clause 4.

10. A minimum security bond of 30% (rounded to the nearest dollar) of total invoiced fee or $100 whichever is higher is payable on all hire items prior to pick-up or delivery of items. In the event that the charges incurred are greater than the security deposit value, an invoice will be issued.

11. Where applicable delivery of your items will be confirmed the week prior to your event. Whilst we will make every effort to deliver at the time you would prefer delivery, sometimes an alternative time will need to be scheduled. We accept no responsibility for keeping delivery times or pickup times.

12. Delivery will be made as close as possible to the required location. However, if vehicle access is limited, and staff need to carry items over 20m, a carry fee is charged.

13. All hire items are to be put back into their appropriate boxes for collection, all glassware/plates etc are to be cleaned, all linen/fabric to be laundered otherwise a cleaning fee minimum of $100 will be charged.

14. Standard hires are available to be picked up from 12pm Wednesday with return to occur before 4pm the following Tuesday. If alternate return is not arranged a late return fee of $100 will apply. In the event that a late return affects another hire, the late returner will bear the cost of reimbursement to the other hire.

15. The named client will be held liable for all costs of repair or replacement, in the event that any person present at the event damages any equipment provided or supplied by Crab Apple Hire at a function or while hired.

16. Any damaged or stolen property from Crab Apple Hire will be invoiced to the named client at their replacement cost.

17. It is the responsibility of the client to be aware of condition items are received in. Where items are dirty and or broken/damaged in any way it must be brought to the attention of Crab Apple Hire at time of receipt.

18. We do not take responsibility for any property that may be left at the venue overnight. It is recommended to allocate someone to collect all valuables (drinks, presents, music equipment etc) and to make sure all hire items are put inside the venue and kept safe and secure.

19. We take no responsibility for any of the guests actions resulting in damage to an outside venue i.e. lawns being destroyed etc

20. Safe clean and suitable. Crab Apple Hire reserve the right to refuse working in an environment that is not suitable.

21. You understand that Crab Apple Hire services are provided as-is and on a best effort basis. We take no responsibility for the success of your wedding in its entirety or any part there of.

22. We are not responsible for any change in climate or weather which may influence or change wedding plans. We reserve the right to use our judgment and make decisions based on experience and professionalism in regards to how the weather will a"ect wedding proceedings.

23. While we select our preferred suppliers with care, Crab Apple Hire cannot be held liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which you may su"er as a result of your decision to enter any dealings or transactions with, or supply personal information to, a preferred supplier or any third party. Please ensure you are aware of whom you are contracting with and the relevant terms and conditions prior to entering into any contract even if arranged on your behalf by Crab Apple Hire.

24. Crab Apple Hire cannot be held liable in the unlikely event of any third party supplies or suppliers not arriving or supplying their products and/or service/s arranged by Crab Apple Hire on the clients behalf which are not part of Crab Apple Hire.

25. As we do not offer insurance to you, we strongly suggest that you arrange your own insurance for both your wedding/celebration and associated travel arrangements.

26. If at anytime the client shows disrespect to any of the team members of Crab Apple Hire we reserve the right to cancel all agreements and withhold any money paid.

27. Photos taken of the design, setup or hire items must not be used for financial gain without the written consent of Crab Apple Hire prior to the event.

28. Capped hire - works on first in best dressed scenario, fair use policy applies and some items may be excluded. Capped hire is a term that best describes us capping the amount you will spend on hire items. You must give a general idea of the items you require no less than 6 months prior to your ever date, and a final list must be confirmed 3 weeks prior to your event.

29. Suitable and appropriate wet weather cover for all hire items must be proven before items will be released.

30. All outside events must have enough cover in close proximity (no more than 10meters) from where the hire items are displayed in case of bad weather. The shelter must have room for all hire items and guests.

31. Images taken by Crab Apple Hire of your event or yourself may be used for advertising and marketing on social media, website and in print.
