Before Crab Apple Hire there was Crab Apple Vintage, the brainchild of us, Martina and Leigh. Our big idea was a treasure trove of recycled, up-cycled and eco-friendly wares – and before long our shop took shape and became busy, busy.
Making it the perfect time to plan our wedding, of course!
In 2013, we set the date and chose Martina’s hometown of Tinonee on NSWs Mid North Coast as our romantic location. Our wedding was set to be a heady combination of vintage charm, rustic chic and 1920s glamour – until we discovered local venues and hire services didn’t offer the style we had in mind. Plot twist!
It was then and there that Crab Apple Hire began…
Dedicated to our vision, vintage chairs and décor were sourced while recycled Kauri Pine trestle tables were handmade by expert carpenters. So, after our celebration was over, we had our first collection of wedding and event pieces ready to hire. Word got out and to our delight, business skyrocketed. As it turns out, great minds really do think alike. There were so many couples, just like us – keen to add a unique feel to their celebration with vintage and recycled pieces. Luckily, we had just what they needed.
Our hire range grew organically with us eagerly sourcing and commissioning new and exciting items just to meet demand. Today, Crab Apple Hire has an extensive collection of vintage and bespoke reclaimed timber pieces in industrial, rustic, country, vintage, modern, coastal, and boho…basically any style our couples request! Before we knew it, we’d brought on board a Warehouse Manager and all-round delivery hero, just to make sure everything could get where it needed to be.
Meanwhile, we recognised the need for a completely personalised event planning and styling service. Considering we had a knack for both, we decided to offer our knowledge and guidance alongside hire. A high demand from awesome couples had us hunting down a full-time professional stylist, and thank goodness we found her! She constantly amazes us and our clients with beautiful furniture combinations and event layouts at all our weddings, corporate functions, milestone parties and special celebrations – you’re the best Margharita!
Today our close-knit team services the Hunter, Newcastle, Sydney, and basically anywhere along the South and North Coast of NSW, and we offer a host of packages to cater for various event sizes and budgets.
